Paediatric Emergency Medicine Ultrasound

Introduces candidates to a range of common ultrasound applications for paediatric emergency medicine.

  • Focused Assessment with Sonography in Trauma (FAST)/Focused Assessment for Free Fluid (FAFF)
  • Basic ultrasound of the chest, including pneumothorax and effusions
  • Focused echocardiography in cardiac arrest
  • Ultrasound-guided vascular access, central and peripheral
  • Basic MSK - Identification of fractures and other injuries
  • Identification of foreign bodies
  • Essential nerve blocks

All courses include topics:

  • An introduction/review to physics of ultrasound
  • Good governance and how to progress after the course.
